Details

Previous training required. This can include CCAC, previous classes at Paragon or with Jaime, or training in any recognizable studio or classroom. As long as you have had a basis of theatre vocabulary and how to work with a script, you are welcome to sign up. Students will be paired with other similarly trained actors. Class size limited to 12.

About the instructor…

Jaime has worked professionally as an actor, director, producer, and educator for the past 25 years in Pittsburgh and New York City. She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and the American Alliance for Theater & Education. Ms. Slavinsky currently teaches acting for theater, film, and television at Pittsburgh’s Emmy-award winning casting agency, Donna Belajac Casting.

A graduate of The Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University, Jaime went on to train with The Atlantic Theater Company in New York City and London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She most recently played Corie Bratter in Barefoot in the Park with Pittsburgh Public Theater (Broadway World Regional Award for Best Play 2021). Jaime originated the roles of Emily Roebling – the first female engineer – in The Man in the Window at The Midtown International Theatre Festival in NYC and Lance Cpl. Jamie Hernandez in Tammy Ryan’s Soldier’s Heart at The Playhouse REP. Favorite regional credits include: Sally Sue in Apple Says, Yes with Pittsburgh Playwrights (Best Actress Award), Sylphe, The Armless Wonder, in Swamp Baby with Phase 3 Productions (Supporting Actress of the Year Nomination – OutOnline), Joyce Carol Oats in Recent Tragic Events with Dogs in the Night (Post-Gazette Readers’ Favorite Actress of the Year), and Jean in Dead Man’s Cell Phone with Organic Theater Pittsburgh for which the Post-Gazette named her as one the Top Ten Lead Actresses in Pittsburgh.

Ms. Slavinsky is also a headshot photographer and sought-after private acting & audition coach.

If you have any questions about registration, please call before sending payment. Students are encouraged to be consistent with attendance. A $5.00 fee will be charged during the two nine-week sessions to help cover heating costs. This is an effort to keep class prices lower. (This means each student pays $10.00 total per year.) There is a production fee charged in the middle of the year for participation in our show. This generally runs $30 for levels 1&2 and $40 for levels 3 & 4. Private voice students – Missed lessons – Students may make up ONE lesson per nine weeks. Please understand that any lesson missed beyond the one per nine week session will not be made up and a refund will not be issued. (Any lesson missed due to teacher cancellation will be made up at the student’s convenience.)
