Auditions!

Our licensing agreement with Music Theatre International states we cannot release the name of our September production until July 2nd. This is often due to a national tour that may be playing near our city. The name of the show will be announced July 2nd. It’s a classic with a big cast!

Audition information and requirements:

When: Saturday, July 12, 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. (You do not need a timeslot. Come anytime during audition hours.)

Who: All ages 18 and up. Leads and ensemble are open for both older actors as well as young adults. Auditions for this musical are for 18+. There is a need for a few teens and kids for the opening and closing numbers of the show. Information on that will be coming soon!

Where: Paragon Theatre, 1321 State Avenue, Coraopolis, PA

**If you are unavailable on July 12, a special set of auditions will be held IN ADVANCE on Monday, June 23 at 7:00 p.m. These auditions will be held at the STUDIOS in McCandless. Please text or email to let us know you’re coming!)

Song

Please prepare 32 bars in the style of classical-style musical theatre (think Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, Beauty and the Beast, etc). Be sure to bring digital accompaniment. Speaker connections for both iphones and androids will be available!

Men playing over 40, please read Tevye. Men playing under 40, please read Motel. Women playing over 40, please read Yente. Women playing under 35, please read Tzeitel. (Men over 40, you will likely not read every Tevye script. Please especially prepare his page 1 monologue.)

The show will run September 11-20. Rehearsals will be held any evening of the week or weekends. Please bring a list of your weekly and one-time conflicts! We are willing to work around conflicts but need to know about them in advance!

If you have any questions about registration, please call before sending payment. Students are encouraged to be consistent with attendance. A $5.00 fee will be charged during the two nine-week sessions to help cover heating costs. This is an effort to keep class prices lower. (This means each student pays $10.00 total per year.) There is a production fee charged in the middle of the year for participation in our show. This generally runs $30 for levels 1&2 and $40 for levels 3 & 4. Private voice students – Missed lessons – Students may make up ONE lesson per nine weeks. Please understand that any lesson missed beyond the one per nine week session will not be made up and a refund will not be issued. (Any lesson missed due to teacher cancellation will be made up at the student’s convenience.)
